The 12 days of Xmas
It's been a while since I last had time to think about what has happened but now when i think back to the begining of december I am more than a little surprised by how things turned out. The worst part is I know nothing like this should really surprise me. Expect the unexpected.
So the first part of the Christmas season I spent on trains to and from Essex. I went to Jo and Jon's new flat which is really cool, met a load of new people I would like to consider are now my friends or at least congenial acquaintances and have probably spent more time acting my age than I have ever done. I must lead a pretty sheltered life under normal circumstances as in December I think I have spent the most time around drugs and alcohol than ever in my life. These aren't hardened addicts or dealers or even alcoholics (or at least I hope not) but being a non drinker, non smoker and not into illegal substances it all seems quite a lot. They all seem such nice people, genuinely non judgemental and really quite smart. intelligent conversation and debate (as well as hours of watching family guy or discussing scrubs) have been a breath of fresh air.
Work in the office was a change, a struggle with getting sick in the mornings but it was also really good to see some of my friends from work and meet some new faces too. Cisco event wasn't bad although the food sucked greatly. not that I'm ridiculously fussy or anything.
